How it works

Three steps. Zero effort.

1
DaVinci Resolve Media Cut Edit Fusion Color INSPECTOR Nike — Spring Cam...

Open DaVinci Resolve

Just work as you normally would. No setup, no timers to start, no new habits to build.

2
ResolveTime PROJECTS Nike — Spring... ✓ Detected Documentary... Wedding Film... Brand Video... PROJECT DETECTED Nike — Spring Campaign Tracking active

ResolveTime detects your project

The app automatically recognises which project is open — no naming rules, no manual input.

3
Nike — Spring Campaign GESAMT 28h 14m HEUTE 3h 22m JETZT 01:47 Tracking — DaVinci Resolve is active Today 09:14 → 11:01 1h 47m

Every second tracked automatically

Time is recorded per project, per session. See exactly what you billed — at invoice time.

The Problem

You forget to start the timer. Every. Single. Time.

You open DaVinci Resolve, get straight to work, and hours later realize you never started tracking. At invoice time you're reconstructing hours from memory — and probably undercharging.

And even if you quote flat rates — do you actually know how many hours that wedding film took? Without data, every quote is a guess. ResolveTime gives you the numbers to price your next project right.

Normal time trackers only see "DaVinci Resolve is open." They can't tell you which client project you actually worked on.

❌ Without ResolveTime
  • Forgot to start timer — again
  • 3 client projects, one vague total
  • "I think I worked about 6 hours?"
  • Flat-rate quotes based on gut feeling
  • Underbilling every month
✅ With ResolveTime
  • Opens automatically with Resolve
  • Each project tracked separately
  • Exact hours, per client, always
  • Know your real cost — quote flat rates confidently
  • Invoice with confidence
Features

Everything a freelancer needs.
Nothing you don't.

Automatic Detection

Detects your active DaVinci Resolve project without any manual input. Just open Resolve and work.

🗂️

Per-Project Tracking

Every project gets its own timer. Switch between clients freely — hours are always logged correctly.

🛋️

Inactivity Detection

Step away from your desk and the timer pauses automatically. Configurable idle timeout.

✏️

Manual Adjustments

Add or subtract time with a comment. Perfect for phone calls, client meetings, or corrections.

🔒

Local by default

The Mac app keeps all data in one local file — no account, works fully offline. Only the optional iPhone sync (ResolveTime Go) uses a secure EU server, and only when you turn it on.

💻

Mac & Windows

Currently available for macOS 13+. Windows version coming soon.

Now on the App Store · iPhone companion

Your hours start before you sit down to edit.

Editing is only half the job. With ResolveTime Go your iPhone tracks the drive to the client and the shoot on location — automatically — and sends everything straight to the Mac app. Travel + shoot + edit, finally in one place, per client.

🚗

Automatic travel tracking

The app detects when you start driving and logs the travel time to your client by itself — no timer to start. Correct it anytime.

🎥

Shoot time on arrival

When you arrive, the production timer starts automatically. Multiple shoot days add up per job — each trip listed separately with start and end time.

🔗

Straight to your Mac

Clients, jobs and videos sync both ways. On the Mac you simply pick which edit project belongs to which video — and the cutting time lands there automatically.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does it work with the free version of DaVinci Resolve?

Yes. ResolveTime works with both DaVinci Resolve (free) and DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Do I need to start a timer manually?

No. ResolveTime detects when DaVinci Resolve is in the foreground and starts tracking automatically. When you switch apps or close Resolve, tracking stops.

What happens when DaVinci Resolve is in the background?

Tracking pauses as soon as Resolve loses focus. You can optionally enable Finder tracking — when Finder is in the foreground and a Resolve project is open, the timer keeps running.

Can I track multiple clients / projects?

Yes. Each DaVinci Resolve project gets its own tracked time. You can switch projects freely and totals are always kept separate.

I charge flat rates — is ResolveTime useful for me?

Absolutely. Even on fixed-price projects, knowing your actual hours is crucial. ResolveTime shows you exactly how long each project really took — so you can see whether your flat rates are profitable and price future projects with confidence instead of guesswork.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

The Mac app stores everything in a single local file and needs no internet after activation — nothing is sent to a server. The one exception is the optional ResolveTime Go iPhone companion: only if you turn it on, your clients, jobs and times sync through a secure EU server so the Mac app can read them. It stays off until you enable it.

Can I correct tracked time?

Yes. You can add or subtract time from any project at any time, with an optional comment. The adjustment is logged separately so you always have a full history.

What system permissions does it need?

ResolveTime detects the active DaVinci Resolve project automatically — no special permissions required.

What's the difference between Annual and Lifetime?

The Annual plan (€19.99/year) includes all future updates and new features for as long as your subscription is active. The Lifetime license (€34.99) gives you the current version permanently — it will keep working, but does not include future updates or new features.

Can I cancel my annual subscription?

Yes, anytime. After cancellation your license remains valid until the end of the paid period. No partial refunds for unused time, but you can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Is Windows supported?

Not yet — ResolveTime is currently macOS only (13 Ventura or later). A Windows version is planned. If you purchase now, your license will work on Windows once it's available.

How does the trial work?

Download the trial and use the full app for 7 days with no restrictions. No credit card required. After 7 days you'll need a license to continue.

How do I activate my license?

After purchase you'll receive a license key by email. Enter it in ResolveTime and you're done. No account needed.
